Choose a Travel Credit Card

When choosing a travel credit card, there are a few things to consider in order to get the right card for your situation. You can’t afford any more to remain loyal to one airline simply for the services it offers. It might be worthwhile to try another airline carrier, if you’d like to enjoy the benefits of credit card rewards.

The first thing to compare is the system of reward points. These are points you earn with every dollar you spend on your tickets. Put down if it’s 1 point for every dollar or if you are awarded 3 points per dollar spen. We’ll compare these figures later on.

Are there any fees involved with the travel credit card? This is the 2nd most important point to llok at in your credit card. Is there an annual fee, are there any other additional charges for using that particular card. However, keep in mind that it may well be worth paying those fees if the card suits you more than the others.

Are there any limits or restrictions associated with that card, for example there may be blackout dates or reward points may expire some day. Don’t forget to check on this as well, as it may be a not so good surprise when you try to get cash back for your miles and find out they have all expired.

These are three simple things to keep in mind while comparing travel or airline credit cards. If you find a card that suits you in most ways, you can save a lot of cash on your airline trips. This may allow you to get your next flight for free or enjoy other benefits of travel credit cards.
